General Policy Statement

The integration of Health and Safety with all aspects of work is recognised to be in everyone's interest; employees, the company, the general public and the environment.
To this end the company resolves to: -
- Continuously assess all work activities, systems, workplaces and materials for risk.
- Eliminate or reduce risks wherever practical, to provide safe and healthy working conditions, taking into account the company's statutory obligations.
- Give instruction, training, supervision and information to enable all employees to carry out their duties in safety and to actively contribute to the safety within the organisation.
- Make available all necessary personal protective equipment and safety devices.
- To involve the employees wherever possible and to encourage consultation through the line managers.
- This policy will from time to time be reviewed and amended as necessary. Employees will be kept informed of any amendments.
Employees have a duty to co-operate in the operation of this policy by: -
- Applying health and safety knowledge to every working situation.
- Considering the health and safety of the general public, work colleagues, the environment and themselves at all times.
- Co-operate with management in any efforts to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Not interfere with or mis-use anything provided in the interest of health and safety, i.e. fire extinguishers.
- Report all accidents, near miss-occurrences and hazardous situations to their line manager.
- Give all assistance as required in the investigation of accidents.
- Become familiar with and conform to this policy and relevant safety instructions at all times.
