Bar, club and hotel chain Festival Inns, is investing 80,000 on upgrading its EPoS (electronic point of sale) terminals and management systems.
It will take place across its 24 outlets in Scotland, with the project set for completion in June 2006.
These include The Three Sisters and Biddy Mulligans in Edinburgh and The Meadowpark in Stirling.
The company uses Zonal EPoS terminals and Aztec management systems across the estate and at its head office in Edinburgh.
The investment will result in each outlet having the next generation of Zonal's Aztec system, together with improved head office integration and reporting.
Neil Rankin, an area manager with Festival Inns, said: " It is important that each of our managers has the latest EPoS equipment to help them run their individual outlets more efficiently."
And his view is backed by the company's Finance Director Richard Spanner, who added: " Head Office management need fast and accurate information to see the overall state of the business as well the day to day performance of individual sites.
" By looking at the information from the terminals and management systems we are able to see trends within the business and judge how successful our promotions and special deals are both individually and across the company."
Festival Inns IT manager Adam Booth, who is responsible for the project, said: " Our investment in the state-of-the-art equipment demonstrates our commitment to the future success of our bars, clubs and hotels as well as Festival Inns itself.
" We chose Zonal for this project, not only for its excellent products, but also for its dynamism and flexibility."
Zonal Managing Director Stuart McLean said: " We are delighted to be working closely with Festival Inns on this project and are confident that their investment will result in even more success for the company."
