National pub operator JD Wetherspoon has installed five new EPoS (electronic point of sale) terminals at one of its airport pubs - after 14 years continuous service from the original equipment.
EPoS manufacturer and supplier Zonal installed the terminals at Wetherspoons in Heathrow Airport Terminal Four (airside), when the pub opened in 1992.
During the past 14 years the three EPoS terminals have been in use every minute of the working day in the busy and popular pub.
Now the pub has undergone a £120,000 refurbishment and Zonal's Z309 terminals are behind the bar.
As part of the refurbishment the pub now offers table service to customers at a new area at the front of the outlet.
Wetherspoon's general manager (airports), Barry Brewster, said: " The EPoS terminals have served the pub well over the years and I'm certain the new ones will continue to do so.
Zonal's Managing Director Stuart McLean added: " We are pleased that the original terminals enjoyed such a long life span and that Zonal continues to be part of the setup at Wetherspoons."
