Ian Brown operates seven pubs in North East England and some shrewd buying of second-hand hardware meant that he was able to equip each of his outlets with Zonal EPoS for hundreds rather than thousands of pounds.
Each of the pubs are linked through a back office system that allows Ian to keep an eye on what's happening around his estate.
"The benefits are enormous," he says. "It's the speed of operation, the control of the business, control of margins, efficiency in the kitchen and catching errors.
"If you employ people in your pub I really believe you need EPoS from day one. Not everyone is dishonest, but you have got to monitor your staff or you are asking for trouble.
The speed of the system I have is another asset. If a product goes off in one of the pubs I know straight away and I know how many sales I am losing."
