What does a Zonal EPoS Solution mean to Montpelier?

The importance of data analysis cannot be understated explains David Wither. David is the Managing Director of Montpelier, the group that owns a number of prestige bars and restaurants including Edinburgh's Opal Lounge, Indigo Yard and Rick's.

Montpelier use the data analysis tools to assess the performance of each outlet and use sales data to adjust its product mix and promotion strategy accordingly. In particular Montpelier like to "look at spend per customer, stock rotation and food sales at different times of the year".

David added, "The management team read all of the reports taken from the EPoS terminals very closely giving us an excellent insight into each outlet as well as an overall picture of the business."

Montpelier uses Zonal terminals and kitchen printers in all of its outlets.

"All customer orders are sent directly to the relevant printer, so that each order can be prepared. Quite simply, we couldn't operate without our Zonal EPoS. The printers are so important for speed of service. If a customer orders something from three different service areas, all three different teams can be working on that order at the same time."

The Indigo Yard has a popular outside drinking area and Montpelier management are planning to equip its staff at the outlet with Zonal's hand-held EPoS which offers wireless order management in addition to all the existing benefits of a normal Zonal EPoS terminal.
