The only independently verified and audited initiative to invest in whole agroforestry systems where the planet needs it most and for farmers growing ingredients the hospitality industry consumes. GiftTrees are not just ‘trees’ they are the way your diners can pass on the joy of good food to families surviving on less than $1.25/day, along with homes, clothes, schooling and medicine.

GiftTrees’ agroforestry systems do more than just plant trees—they transform lives. These systems provide farming families living in extreme poverty with abundant food harvests, reliable income, access to education, clothing, medicine, and even safe homes. Beyond uplifting communities, each fruit tree in a GiftTrees agroforestry system has the power to sequester up to one ton of CO₂ in its lifetime, combating climate change while growing a sustainable future.

GiftTrees is a powerful and simple social impact initiative that enable your conscious diners to do something beyond just enjoying a great meal – it lets them pass it forward.  And it allows you to become certified as a GiftTrees Restaurant, joining a community of responsible restaurant owners working with their diners to make a difference to our planet and people.

It costs you nothing to help offset the environmental impact of meals and help lift people out of extreme poverty.

This initiative has been proven to elevate diner experiences, create talkability beyond the dining experience and most importantly, create lasting change for our society and planet.

How do GiftTrees work with Zonal?

GiftTrees is seamlessly integrated with Zonal’s EPoS, allowing participating venues to easily boost their societal impact and improve sustainability. With the integration in place, a small fee of £1.23 is simply added on to the end of a customer’s bill. This helps counterbalance the environmental impact of their meal. Each GiftTree planted by your diners is credited to your restaurant within your dedicated portal.

Through your personalised GiftTrees Portal you can keep track of Tokens earned and redeem them for Zonal renewals, upgrades and additional software… OR use your Tokens to fund a project or charity anywhere in the world!
